lady powered city pedal!

over the holiday weekend lovely riley and i rode our bicycles up to san francisco from santa cruz. we stayed the night at pigeon point and went to sleep dreaming that the rain clouds above us would stay at bay. (our dreams came true) the following morning a cute australian boy offered us 'a bit of breaky' aboard a squid bus filled with weekend surfers.

for the riding on saturday it was cloudy until half moon bay, where the clouds broke, and the rest of the ride was sunny with a lovely breeze. we didn't take the highway into the city, but discovered a disastrously steep climb into daly city in exchange for the speedy freeway traffic.

once we arrived we set up shop at riley's familia's house and headed out for well-deserved ice cream and a movie. we saw 'the fall'. it was amazing (i highly recommend it), and i was so physically exhausted that i bawled my eyes out. i was left feeling both mentally and physically done. but, a solid night of slept ushered in a day of city bustle. we walked for miles across the city to the zine shop, caught a jazz fest, ate chocolate, ate pizza, and headed back to santa cruz via 3 different modes of public transportation.

i think this was the first 4th of july i've never heard a single firework!

kinda nice actually...
